I just got back from Cancun and whew… this wasn’t just a trip; it was an experience. I had the opportunity to attend a FAM (familiarization) trip hosted by Vacation Express, and let’s just say, your travel advisor has been doing her homework. We stayed at Royalton Riviera Cancun an Autograph Collection, in the Diamond Club section, and I also toured several other resorts so I can confidently match my clients to the right experience, not just a pretty website.

Here’s what stood out: The resorts? Looked EXACTLY like the pictures online (yes, really!) The service? Consistently impressive across the board The experience? Elevated, intentional, and worth it Shoutout to our amazing host Lu Benitez from Vacation Express, everything was seamless, organized, and full of value. But more importantly, this trip gave me real insight: not every resort is for everybody… and that’s where I come in. Whether you’re planning a birthday, anniversary, girls trip, or just need a well-deserved escape, I now have firsthand knowledge to guide you the right way. Because you’re not just booking a trip… you’re investing in an experience. When you’re ready, I’m here.
So, now let’s talk about where I stayed… because this one deserves its own moment. Royalton Riviera Cancun (Autograph Collection) is part of Marriott all-inclusive luxury collection. I stayed in a Diamond Club Luxury Junior Suite pool with oceanview on the 4th floor and listen, waking up to that view? 10/10. The resort has about 840 rooms and suites in different buildings and sections. Some rooms have breathtaking views of the pool, the ocean, the mangrove, or with swim out pools. Taking about pools, there are 12 pools to choose from including a splash zone for families with kids.

Let’s talk about food at Royalton Riviera Cancun because it matters. This resort boosts 9 specialty restaurants, 12 bars, and 1 café and since I take my job very seriously, I ate my way through this resort for you. Breakfast (Buffet): Overwhelming in a good way. So many options, multiple omelet stations, fresh everything, you will not leave hungry.
Restaurants I tried:
Agave Mexican, loved it flavorful, well done, easy favorite.
Hunter Steakhouse, it was okay for me… not my personal favorite.
Armadillo, Tex-Mex, another solid option.
Taj, the Indian option, this was great
Food: Solid across both buffet and restaurants.

Room Service: Didn’t try it personally, but it’s available 24 hours (and other agents were using it, so that’s always a good sign).
Here’s the real breakdown:
Service: Excellent from start to finish Vibe: Elevated but still welcoming—not stuffy Activities: Daily options for both adults AND kids
This is one of those resorts that truly works for Families, Couples, Groups, and anyone who wants an “elevated but still fun” experience. And the Diamond Club? Worth. Every. Penny. You get: Dedicated butler service (yes, two in my case) Private check-in (skip the lines) Exclusive lounge access Private beach and pool areas It just makes the entire experience smoother and more personalized.
My honest take: This is a well-rounded resort that delivers on experience, comfort, and service, without feeling overwhelming. The food overall is excellent, with standout moments depending on where you go. But the buffet alone? You’re already winning.
